SUNDAY SERMON
SERMON NOTES:
Rewire Your Life
I. Introduction: Control your thoughts change your life
Life change begins with thought change.
Proverbs 23:7 - New King James Version— “As he thinketh in his heart, so is he.”
If Satan can control your thinking, he can influence your direction.
If God controls your thinking through His Word, transformation follows.
You cannot live beyond the level of your thinking.
Romans 12:1-2 - New Living Translation
12 And so, dear brothers and sisters,[a] I plead with you to give your bodies to God because of all he has done for you. Let them be a living and holy sacrifice—the kind he will find acceptable. This is truly the way to worship him.[b] 2 Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.
Surrender is the 1st step; You cannot renew a mind that is not submitted.
Conform to this world= The world shapes thinking through culture, fear, pride, comparison.
Transformation happens inside of you before it manifests on the outside
James 4:6-7 - New Living Translation
6 And he gives grace generously. As the Scriptures say, “God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble.” 7 So humble yourselves before God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
Many try to resist without submitting. Won’t work
Submission aligns your thoughts with Scripture.
I trust God more than my thoughts, feelings, my past, what everyone else says
Joshua 1:8 - New Living Translation
8 Study this Book of Instruction continually. Meditate on it day and night so you will be sure to obey everything written in it. Only then will you prosper and succeed in all you do.
Meditate- read, speak, play it over and over in your mind, memorize
Rewire your belief system to line up with God’s Holy Scriptures
Prosperity and success follow obedience.
What you consistently think about shapes who you become.
Romans 4:20-21 - New Living Translation
20 Abraham never wavered in believing God’s promise. In fact, his faith grew stronger, and in this he brought glory to God. 21 He was fully convinced that God is able to do whatever he promises.
Recognizing wrong thought patterns
Rejecting them
Replacing them with Scripture
You don’t fight thoughts with emotion. You fight thoughts with THE WORD. (truth)
Hebrews 12:1-2 - New Living Translation
12 Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a huge crowd of witnesses to the life of faith, let us strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily trips us up. And let us run with endurance the race God has set before us. 2 We do this by keeping our eyes on Jesus, the champion who initiates and perfects our faith.[a] Because of the joy[b] awaiting him, he endured the cross, disregarding its shame. Now he is seated in the place of honor beside God’s throne.
A distracted mind becomes a defeated mind.
A focused mind becomes a disciplined mind.
Endurance come from focus
Conclusion: Consistency rewires belief systems.
Where have you been thinking wrong? Identify it
Find 2–3 Scriptures that confront it.
Meditate on them daily.
Speak the word consistently.
Act in agreement with them. Apply the Word, do it
