SUNDAY SERMON

SERMON NOTES:

Move from Curse to Blessing

Intro: The flesh, sin, curses, and demons separate my people from me

2 Timothy 3:16-17 - (Modern English Version)

All Scripture is inspired by God and is profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.

2 Corinthians 3:17 - Amplified Bible

17 Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty [emancipation from bondage, true freedom].

Genesis 12:1-3 - Modern English Version

12 Now the Lord said to Abram, “Go from your country, your family, and your father’s house to the land that I will show you.

I will make of you a great nation; I will bless you and make your name great,
so that you will be a blessing.  I will bless them who bless you and curse him who curses you,[a]and in you all families of the earth will be blessed.”

Proverbs 10:22 - Amplified Bible

22 The blessing of the Lord brings [true] riches,
And He adds no sorrow to it [for it comes as a blessing from God].

Galatians 3:13-14 - Amplified Bible

13 Christ purchased our freedom and redeemed us from the curse of the Law and its condemnation by becoming a curse for us—for it is written, “Cursed is everyone who hangs [crucified] on a tree (cross)”— 14 in order that in Christ Jesus the blessing of Abraham might also come to the Gentiles, so that we would all receive [the realization of] the promise of the [Holy] Spirit through faith.

Deuteronomy 28:1-2 - Amplified Bible

28 “Now it shall be, if you diligently listen to and obey the voice of the Lord your God, being careful to do all of His commandments which I am commanding you today, the Lord your God will set you high above all the nations of the earth. All these blessings will come upon you and overtake you if you pay attention to the voice of the Lord your God.

  • Isaiah 1:19 19 “If you are willing and obedient, You shall eat the best of the land;

Deuteronomy 28:15 - Modern English Version

15 But it will happen, if you will not listen to the voice of the Lord your God, by being careful to do all His commandments and His statutes which I am commanding you today, that all these curses will come upon you and overtake you.

Genesis 27:21-35 - New Living Translation

21 Then Isaac said to Jacob, “Come closer so I can touch you and make sure that you really are Esau.” 22 So Jacob went closer to his father, and Isaac touched him. “The voice is Jacob’s, but the hands are Esau’s,” Isaac said. 23 But he did not recognize Jacob, because Jacob’s hands felt hairy just like Esau’s. So Isaac prepared to bless Jacob. 24 “But are you really my son Esau?” he asked.

“Yes, I am,” Jacob replied.

25 Then Isaac said, “Now, my son, bring me the wild game. Let me eat it, and then I will give you my blessing.” So Jacob took the food to his father, and Isaac ate it. He also drank the wine that Jacob served him. 26 Then Isaac said to Jacob, “Please come a little closer and kiss me, my son.”

27 So Jacob went over and kissed him. And when Isaac caught the smell of his clothes, he was finally convinced, and he blessed his son. He said, “Ah! The smell of my son is like the smell of the outdoors, which the Lord has blessed!

28 “From the dew of heaven
and the richness of the earth,
may God always give you abundant harvests of grain
    and bountiful new wine.
29 May many nations become your servants,
and may they bow down to you.
May you be the master over your brothers,
and may your mother’s sons bow down to you.
All who curse you will be cursed,
and all who bless you will be blessed.”

30 As soon as Isaac had finished blessing Jacob, and almost before Jacob had left his father, Esau returned from his hunt. 31 Esau prepared a delicious meal and brought it to his father. Then he said, “Sit up, my father, and eat my wild game so you can give me your blessing.”

32 But Isaac asked him, “Who are you?”

Esau replied, “It’s your son, your firstborn son, Esau.”

33 Isaac began to tremble uncontrollably and said, “Then who just served me wild game? I have already eaten it, and I blessed him just before you came. And yes, that blessing must stand!”

34 When Esau heard his father’s words, he let out a loud and bitter cry. “Oh my father, what about me? Bless me, too!” he begged.

35 But Isaac said, “Your brother was here, and he tricked me. He has taken away your blessing.”

Numbers 23:10-12 - New Living Translation

10 Who can count Jacob’s descendants, as numerous as dust?
Who can count even a fourth of Israel’s people?
Let me die like the righteous;
let my life end like theirs.”

11 Then King Balak demanded of Balaam, “What have you done to me? I brought you to curse my enemies. Instead, you have blessed them!”

12 But Balaam replied, “I will speak only the message that the Lord puts in my mouth.”

Numbers 23:23-26 - New Living Translation

23 No curse can touch Jacob; no magic has any power against Israel.
For now it will be said of Jacob, ‘What wonders God has done for Israel!’
24 These people rise up like a lioness, like a majestic lion rousing itself.
They refuse to rest until they have feasted on prey, drinking the blood of the slaughtered!”

25 Then Balak said to Balaam, “Fine, but if you won’t curse them, at least don’t bless them!”

26 But Balaam replied to Balak, “Didn’t I tell you that I can do only what the Lord tells me?”

Numbers 24:9-11 - New Living Translation

Like a lion, Israel crouches and lies down;
like a lioness, who dares to arouse her?  Blessed is everyone who blesses you, O Israel, and cursed is everyone who curses you.”

10 King Balak flew into a rage against Balaam. He angrily clapped his hands and shouted, “I called you to curse my enemies! Instead, you have blessed them three times. 11 Now get out of here! Go back home! I promised to reward you richly, but the Lord has kept you from your reward.”

Conclusion:

Prayer - repeat after me this short prayer from your heart (Rom 10:10)(eph 1:7) (Col 1:12-14) (1 john 3:8 Jesus came to destroy all the works of the devil)

Listen to God’s voice & obey = Blessing (John 10:27) my sheep hear my voice

Recognize your problem

Repent – change your thinking and receive forgiveness and forgive others (decision not an emotion)

Renounce - sin, flesh, the curse

Resist every attempt of Satan to keep you under the curse

Confess faith in Jesus Christ, commit yourself to obedience, confess any known sins of yourself or ancestors on behalf of them, forgive all (unforgiveness is a barrier to prayer), renounce all contact with occult and all objects or secret societies, release yourself from all curses

Cant break the curse unless you meet the qualifications.
