PRAISE AND WORSHIP

SUNDAY SERMON

SERMON NOTES:

God Uses Words to Carry Authority

John 6:63 - New King James Version

63 It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing. The words that I speak to you are spirit, and they are life.

  • Value the spirit realm as more real than the physical realm

  • Words we speak carry spirit and life (supernatural)

Matthew 4:4 - New King James Version

But He answered and said, “It is written, ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.’ ”

  • God declared these words, can’t go back on any of it

  • Hold it higher greater than what we see, hear, or feel

Hebrews 11:3 - New King James Version

3 By faith we understand that the [c]worlds were framed by the word of God, so that the things which are seen were not made of things which are visible.

2 Corinthians 4:13 - New King James Version

13 And since we have the same spirit of faith, according to what is written, “I believed and therefore I spoke,” we also believe and therefore speak,

  • We are made in God’s image (same spirit of faith)

  • Imitate Him as dear children

Matthew 6:30-33 - Modern English Version

30 Therefore, if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is here and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will He not much more clothe you, O you of little faith? 31 Therefore, take no thought, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ 32 (For the Gentiles seek after all these things.) For your heavenly Father knows that you have need of all these things. 33 But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be given to you.

  • Don’t talk the problem or your fear

  • Seek God, what does He say?

Romans 4:17 - Amplified Bible

17 (as it is written [in Scripture], “I have made you a father of many nations”) in the sight of Him in whom he believed, that is, God [a]who gives life to the dead and calls into being that which does not exist.

  • Don’t spend a majority of your time talking about what you don’t have or the problem

  • Call things into existence (into creation)

1 Corinthians 1:26-30 - New International Version

26 Brothers and sisters, think of what you were when you were called. Not many of you were wise by human standards; not many were influential; not many were of noble birth. 27 But God chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise; God chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong. 28 God chose the lowly things of this world and the despised things—and the things that are not—to nullify the things that are, 29 so that no one may boast before him. 30 It is because of him that you are in Christ Jesus, who has become for us wisdom from God—that is, our righteousness, holiness and redemption.

  • Speak what you want to nullify things that exist

  • Enforce His will on the earth (replace with what God’s word says you can have)

Mark 11:23 - Amplified Bible

23 I assure you and most solemnly say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be lifted up and thrown into the sea!’ and [a]does not doubt in his heart [in God’s unlimited power], but believes that what he says is going to take place, it will be done for him [in accordance with God’s will].

  • God’s words in your heart and released from your mouth

    • Mechanics of faith- Have to believe what you say

    • Your words are spiritual faith containers of God’s authority

      • Reign as a king in this life by declaring

Proverbs 18:20-21 - Amplified Bible

20 A man’s stomach will be satisfied with the fruit of his mouth; He will be satisfied with the consequence of his words.  21 Death and life are in the power of the tongue,
And those who love it and indulge it will eat its fruit and bear the consequences of their words.

Matthew 12:34-37 - New Living Translation

34 You brood of snakes! How could evil men like you speak what is good and right? For whatever is in your heart determines what you say. 35 A good person produces good things from the treasury of a good heart, and an evil person produces evil things from the treasury of an evil heart. 36 And I tell you this, you must give an account on judgment day for every idle word you speak. 37 The words you say will either acquit you or condemn you.”

Proverbs 4:23

Guard your heart above all else, for it determines the course of your life.
